It won’t be a bad day, per se. Every bit of magic counts?
August 2012
Apparently I have been mumbling to myself that line from No Lie as I walked around the house. This is like that one time I was humming Rack City.
I should stop listening to terrible rap, but in retrospect, I also read things like Fifty Shades of Grey, Mitt Romney fanfics, and My Immortal and watch the Republican conventions so it’s not like avoiding bad music is going to preserve my sanity or anything.
YEP.
Physics says: go to sleep. Of course
you’re tired. Every atom in you
has been dancing the shimmy in silver shoes
nonstop from mitosis to now.
Quit tapping your feet. They’ll dance
inside themselves without you. Go to sleep.
Geology says: it will be all right. Slow inch
by inch America is giving itself
to the ocean. Go to sleep. Let darkness
lap at your sides. Give darkness an inch.
You aren’t alone. All of the continents used to be
one body. You aren’t alone. Go to sleep.
Astronomy says: the sun will rise tomorrow,
Zoology says: on rainbow-fish and lithe gazelle,
Psychology says: but first it has to be night, so
Biology says: the body-clocks are stopped all over town
and
History says: here are the blankets, layer on layer, down and down.— Albert Goldbarth, The Sciences Sing a Lullabye
Man, How to Train Your Dragon never gets old. I think this is my 5th or 6th time watching it.
It’s still summer for me and I have no plans for the rest of the day. I can’t go back to sleep. My brain is being super lazy right now. Everything is dead empty on my go to social medias because people haven’t woken up yet or still in school.
I can’t think of anything to do so uh I am now here rambling useless crap on Tumblr. Yes, I am reduced to such a thing.
Sometimes, when boredom strikes and my mind drifts off, I think about all the stupid, guilty crap that I have done over the years and feel a little bit regretful and sad. When I really think hard about what has been said and done, though, I wouldn’t really want to go back in time and fix it because basically living my way up to the presence again would be such a pain.
As time passes from my mistakes, I would like to believe I have achieved so many more accomplishments to offset the failures.
Maybe this is why we are in no hurry to build time machines. We build time capsules instead to help us remember things because our memories degrade over time and it is nice not to be forgotten. If every one gets to go back in time to fix every single one of their mistakes, no one would be living in the presence any more. Most of the time, the problems people want to fix are really smaller than they think and it is still not set in stone going back to fix the problems would really make the future better unless somebody died or lost a limb. Hmm.
Also, time travelling to the way past like the Belle Epoque or the Renaissance times would be nice in theory, but suck terribly when you figure in the terrible women’s rights, lack of medicine, and no internet.
Visiting for a brief period of time without fucking up history or changing anything would be great, though. A nice holiday.

A “<3”?
You can do better than that! XD

You are welcome, Sarina and Elysa.
Ann Romney: I do not want to talk about politics tonight. I want to talk about hearts and what divides us.
